Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT)

Precision Neuromuscular Therapy is a soft-tissue treatment that treats pain and dysfunction caused by muscular imbalance(s) within the muscular-skeletal system. These muscle imbalances can be caused by poor posture, repetitive movements, trauma, and holding a muscle in the shortened position for a period of time.

PNMT restores weight bearing equality and symmetry, which is essential for good health. This is why it is so important to bring people into neutral balance alignment.

“Neutral balance alignment is key to becoming pain free!” ™ ∼ Me

Elements That Cause Pain

There are four elements that cause pain in our body. The breakdown is as follows…

Structural: Any distortion from the optimal position of your frame. Said distortions will negatively impact your muscles, connective tissue, and joint function.

Functional: Includes muscular strength, length, ability to relax and release, and the ability to fire in the appropriate and optimally efficient order.

Trigger Point / Referred Pain: Includes the various kinds of trigger points that disturb muscle function, refer pain, and reduce muscle length.

Neural: Includes both the ability of nerves to influence muscular function, and the capability for muscles to compress and entrap nerves.

Referred Pain

Referred pain is a phenomenon where pain is perceived at a site adjacent to, or at a distance from, the site of an injury’s origin.

For example, carpal tunnel symptoms can be caused by problems in the neck, shoulder, and upper arm, which can throw off alignment of the muscles and tendons down the arm. The result is not necessarily pain in the shoulder, but instead pain that is similar to carpal tunnel; however, when the ‘carpal tunnel syndrome’ is treated directly, it never seems to go away.

Conditions That Precision Neuromuscular Therapy Can Improve

Common conditions that PNMT is successful with includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • TMJ dysfunction
  • Whiplash injuries
  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Sciatica and piriformis syndrome
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tennis and golfer’s elbow
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Shin splints
  • Tendonitis
  • Bursitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Muscle spasms, cramps, and strains
  • Postural distortions

Taking all of this into account, why not give Precision Neuromuscular Therapy a try. It has helped hundreds of my clients… it could help you too!
